How Ivan Ivanovich Quarreled with Ivan Nikiforovich

A theatrical comedy based on N. Gogol’s story about two neighbours, Ivan Ivanovich and Ivan Nikiforovich. A trivial slight turns their quiet lives and friendship into a prolonged, increasingly absurd feud that gradually draws in the whole city.

Through humour and grotesque, the play explores vanity, stubbornness and human weaknesses, as well as the difficulty of taking the first step towards reconciliation. Staged by V. Bugakov at the State Academic Russian Drama Theatre of Uzbekistan.
