“Sumerki. Saga. Novolunie” is a fantasy film directed by Chris Weitz and made in the United States. After a painful separation from Edward, Bella tries to accept his disappearance and finds comfort in her friendship with Jacob Black.
Soon, Bella begins to realise that Jacob is hiding a secret of his own. When her life is threatened again, she must do everything she can to save her true love. The cast includes Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Rachelle Lefevre and Ashley Greene.

- According to the original plan, Catherine Hardwicke, director of the first film, was also supposed to direct «New Moon». However, disagreements with «Summit Entertainment» led her to leave the project.
- For a long time, there were rumors that Taylor Lautner, who played Jacob Black, would be replaced by an older actor. Michael Copon and Stephen Strait were both considered for the role, but Chris Weitz ultimately decided not to change anything.
- The lead actor, Robert Pattinson, also caused the filmmakers some concern: three months before filming «New Moon» began, he cut his long hair very short, even though a fashionable hairstyle was part of Edward’s look. His hair had grown back by March, but Pattinson had already made the heads of «Summit Entertainment» nervous.
- Oliver James was considered for the role of one of the werewolves.
- The role of Heidi had long been set aside for AnnaLynne McCord, who had auditioned for the role of Rosalie in «Twilight» a year earlier.
- Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff wanted to appear in «New Moon», but the story simply had no characters for them.
- All the actors playing Quileute werewolves were Native American. At the audition, each showed Chris Weitz special documents confirming their Native American ancestry. Bronson Pelletier was descended from the Cree-Métis, Chaske Spencer from the Lakota, Alex Meraz from the Purépecha, Kiowa Gordon from the Hualapai, and Tyson Houseman from the Cree.
- Rene Haynes handled auditions for the Quileute roles. She had worked as a casting director on such well-known films about Native American life as «Dances with Wolves» (1990) and «Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee» (2007).
