A crisis is brewing at Mossy Bottom farm: the clumsy Farmer destroys the entire pumpkin crop, putting the town’s celebration at risk. Shaun the Sheep decides to fix the problem with science, but the experiment goes wrong.

The Farmer disappears, and a Furry Beast starts howling in the forest. Shaun, the dog Bitzer and the rest of the woolly group must save the farm from a hairy apocalypse. The animated family comedy is suitable for viewers aged 6 and over.

Trivia (4)
  • According to directors Steve Cox and Matthew Walker, the animation was initially conceived as a special for Valentine’s Day. As the project gradually gained new details and ideas, the monster and Halloween became part of the concept.
  • The test tubes for Shaun’s laboratory were made by the glassblower of the Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford.
  • The animation required 47 sets of scenery for different scenes and locations.
  • A total of 283 puppets were used: 213 were modified versions of earlier models, while 70 were created from scratch. Some characters were made in multiple copies so they could be replaced as they wore out: 12 puppets each were made for the Beast and the Veterinarian, while 22 puppets played Shaun.
