Amir Temur's Mausoleum, also known as Gur-i Amir, is a landmark of Central Asian architecture in Samarkand. Construction began in 1403 at Amir Temur's direction and was completed under Mirza Ulugbek.
Inside, visitors can see a dome decorated with glazed tiles and Arabic script, geometric patterns on the walls, onyx facing and the tombstones of the Timurids. A dark green jade stone stands above Amir Temur's grave. The entrance is through a tiered gallery on the eastern side.
