The Nadir Devonbegi Madrasah was built in 1630–1635, in the 17th century, by Nadir Mirza Togay Sultan, devonbegi of the Bukhara Khanate. The site was not chosen at random: the rooms of Vali Khoja Akhrori stood here. The design makes deliberate use of the view towards the Sherdor Madrasah on Registan Square.
The building is single-storey, laid out with four portals, and consists of three parts: a study room, a dormitory and a servants' room. Inscriptions on the roof indicate when construction began, and the ornamental decoration is the work of master Khoja Hashim and the builder-engineer Dost Muhammad.
In 1986 the madrasah was added to the list of historical monuments.
